Pink slip application form Cyprus asks for is MVIS8, the application for a visitor residence permit under Regulation 14 of the Aliens and Immigration Regulations. It costs EUR 70 plus EUR 70 for your first entry in the Aliens Register, runs one year, and allows no economic activity in Cyprus at all.
Pink slip application form Cyprus: what MVIS8 is for
Regulation 14 describes the visitor permit as being for holidays, touring, or looking into whether to settle in Cyprus. That is the whole of it. You are a person who lives on money from somewhere else, and Cyprus lets you be here while you do. The moment you start earning in Cyprus you are outside what the permit covers.
The form itself is MVIS8. The Migration Department says visitor permits are usually decided within four months, and the first permit is issued for one year, renewable after that.
Cyprus immigration pink slip fees
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Visitor residence permit | EUR 70 |
| First entry in the Aliens Register | EUR 70 |
| Renewal (permit only) | EUR 70 |
So EUR 140 the first time. Those are the amounts paid to the state. Certified Greek translations, the Cyprus medical tests, the health insurance policy and any help with the file are separate, and the market rate for that help in Cyprus is around EUR 1,000.
Cyprus pink slip application: the money test
The Migration Department's own supporting-documents list sets the income evidence. For one applicant it is remittances into a Cyprus bank account of at least EUR 2,000 a month, which the Department reads as EUR 24,000 a year. A spouse adds 20% to that figure and each child adds 15%.
For a first permit you may instead show a single transfer or deposit of at least EUR 10,000. At renewal the Department wants the account to still hold at least EUR 6,000, which catches people who moved the money in to pass the test and then moved it straight back out.
Cyprus pink slip benefits, and what it is not
What the permit gives you is simple and worth having: legal residence for a year at a time, a Cyprus address, the ability to rent or buy a home, and the Aliens Registration Certificate number that Cyprus administration asks for. Combined with a Cyprus company and a home you own or rent, it can sit under a 60-day tax residency claim, because the Income Tax Law asks about days, a Cyprus office or business and a home, not about which permit you hold.
What it is not is a path. It does not accumulate towards permanent residence the way the five-year routes do, it does not let you work, and it is not a Schengen document, because Cyprus was still outside Schengen in October 2026.
The rest of the file
Besides the income evidence, the Department's list asks for a bank guarantee covering repatriation, in an amount that depends on your nationality, a criminal record certificate from your country, medical tests taken in Cyprus, a health insurance policy, and the title deed or rental contract for where you will live. Documents from abroad need an apostille and a certified Greek translation.
One wording note. "Pink slip" is what residents, agents and landlords in Cyprus call this permit, and we use it here because it is what people search for. The Migration Department does not use the term on its own pages, so you will not find it on a form or in a regulation.
