Cyprus residence permit cost splits into three numbers that get quoted as one: the fee you pay the state, the fee you pay whoever prepares the file, and the income or capital the route requires you to already have. The third is usually the largest and is the one left out of headline prices.
Cyprus residence permit cost: the state fees
| What you are paying for | Fee |
|---|---|
| EU registration certificate, MEU1 | EUR 20 |
| Permanent residence of an EU citizen's third-country family member, MEU3 | EUR 20 |
| Visitor permit, first application | EUR 70 + EUR 70 |
| Visitor permit renewal | EUR 70 |
| Digital nomad permit | EUR 70 + EUR 70 |
| Foreign-interest-company permit | EUR 70 + EUR 80 + EUR 70 |
| Permanent residence application, Regulation 6(2) or Category F | EUR 500 |
| Alien Registration Certificate, per person | EUR 70 |
| Long-term residence document | EUR 30 |
| Tax residence certificate | EUR 80 in fee stamps |
| Company incorporation at the Registrar | EUR 165 |
| Company name approval form | EUR 10 |
| Accelerated company registration | + EUR 100 |
Those are all of them that matter for a residency move, and none of them is large. Which is exactly why a quoted "Cyprus residency from EUR 500" is meaningless: the fee is not the obstacle.
Cyprus residency income requirement, by route
This is the number that decides whether a route is open to you at all.
- Visitor permit: remittances into a Cyprus bank of at least EUR 2,000 a month, read as EUR 24,000 a year, plus 20% for a spouse and 15% per child. A first permit can instead show a EUR 10,000 transfer, with at least EUR 6,000 still in the account at renewal.
- Digital nomad permit: net monthly income of at least EUR 3,500, after tax and contributions.
- Foreign-interest company staff: gross salary of at least EUR 2,500 a month on a contract of at least two years.
- EU Blue Card: gross salary of at least EUR 43,632 a year, and only for ICT, pharmaceutical research and shipping roles.
- Investor permanent residence: EUR 300,000 invested, plus a secured annual income of EUR 50,000, plus EUR 15,000 for a spouse and EUR 10,000 per minor child.
- EU citizens relying on resources: no fixed figure. The test is sufficient resources and comprehensive sickness insurance.
Category F is missing from that list on purpose. The Migration Department page gives EUR 9,568 a year plus EUR 4,613 per dependant, and those figures look like unrestated pre-euro amounts. We are not treating them as a current threshold until we have the practice confirmed in writing.
What the market charges to handle it
In October 2026 we read the published fees of twelve Cyprus firms, took ranges at their midpoint, and grouped them by service. These are headline fees the firms publish themselves, not quotes we asked for, and no Cypriot firm publishes a full itemised rate card.
| Service | Median published fee | Our fee |
|---|---|---|
| Non-dom and tax residency setup | EUR 2,600 | EUR 2,900 |
| Permanent residency, Regulation 6(2) | EUR 3,500 | EUR 4,900 |
| Company formation | EUR 2,300 | EUR 2,400 |
| Pink slip or yellow slip help | EUR 1,000 | EUR 900 |
| Annual accounting and audit | EUR 2,775 | EUR 2,700 |
We are above the median on permanent residence and at or below it everywhere else. We would rather show you that than claim to be the cheapest, because the cheapest quote on this route usually means the income evidence has not been looked at yet.
The costs nobody puts in a package
Apostilles and certified Greek translations, which scale with how many family members and civil-status documents are involved. Cyprus medical tests for the visitor route. A health insurance policy, which the investor and visitor routes both require. The bank guarantee for repatriation on a visitor permit, in an amount that depends on your nationality. And a year of rent, since almost every route wants a signed lease or a title deed in the file before it will look at anything else.
Common questions
- What is the cheapest Cyprus residence permit?
- The EU registration certificate at EUR 20, but it is only open to EU, EEA and Swiss citizens. For a third-country national the cheapest is the visitor permit at EUR 140 the first time and EUR 70 on renewal.
- What income does Cyprus residency require?
- It depends entirely on the route. A visitor permit wants about EUR 2,000 a month remitted into a Cyprus bank. Investor permanent residence wants EUR 50,000 a year plus EUR 15,000 for a spouse and EUR 10,000 per minor child. A digital nomad permit wants EUR 3,500 net a month. An EU citizen relying on resources has no fixed figure.
- Do these fees include legal help?
- No. Every figure in the state-fee table is paid to the Republic of Cyprus. Professional fees are separate and are set by whoever handles your file.
- What do Cyprus firms charge to handle a residence file?
- From the fees twelve Cyprus firms published in October 2026: tax residency and non-dom setup clustered around EUR 2,600, investor permanent residence around EUR 3,500, company formation around EUR 2,300, and help with a pink or yellow slip around EUR 1,000. Those are published headline fees, not quotes we requested.
