Cyprus golden visa processing time: what the two months covers

The decision, from a complete file being accepted at the Migration Department in Nicosia. It does not cover finding and buying the property, moving the money, or assembling the documents, and on a real timeline those are the long parts.

The money in particular has its own schedule. At least EUR 300,000 excluding VAT must be paid by the time you apply, transferred into Cyprus from abroad, from your own or your spouse's account or a company you solely own, into the seller's Cyprus bank account. Local borrowing does not qualify. Opening the banking relationship that makes that possible is frequently the longest single step and nobody publishes a target for it.

Why Category F has no number

Because it is the ordinary procedure, decided through the Immigration Control Committee rather than on the expedited track. Estimates in circulation run from about a year to several years, and no government figure supports any of them.

That contrast is the honest case for the investment route. You are not buying a better permit, you are buying a published timetable and a rulebook with numbers on every condition.

What you still have to do after approval

Take up residence within a year, or the permit lapses. Avoid being absent from Cyprus for two years. Keep the investment, or replace it with an equivalent one. Prove each year that it is still held, and keep health insurance in force if you are outside the national system. Criminal record certificates every three years.

So the two months is the beginning of the obligations, not the end of them.
